Work progresses steadily on "Curses and Sermons" and yesterday saw us take a step closer release with the recording of the voice over sections at a recording studio in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire. The first edit will be assembled in the next couple of weeks and then the post production process can begin proper with the appointment of a CGI artist and composer. Initial feedback from those who've seen the footage is very positive, so watch this space for further developments.

IT'S A WRAP ... (Added 2007-08-12 21:11:27 BST)
After eight days of principal photography, CURSES AND SERMONS has finished shooting. Despite the first outbreak of foot and mouth in six years to strike one of our locations and the worst flooding for over two hundred years hitting another of the central locations a fortnight before shooting, the film is in the can. There's a saying in the film industry that "if it can go wrong, it will" and this production was certainly not without its stresses and headaches, but thanks to a fantastically hardworking crew and a talented cast we reached the end of this all important phase. Watch this space for the first exclusive photographs and more news as the project progresses. Post production begins here.

10 DAYS TO GO AND COUNTING ... (Added 2007-07-27 12:05:25 BST)
It's just over a week to go until the first day of principal photography on the Company's latest adventure, the Michael McClure inspired short film Curses and Sermons. The last few months have been hectic with shooting scripts to finalise, shooting schedules to be drawn up and equipment, costumes, sets, locations, studios and casts to find. The cast can now be confirmed as Philip Bulcock (The Cowboy) and Kasia Halpin (The Star). Other cast members include Melanie Rook, Vanessa Parade, Nicola Kelleher, Poppy Antoniades and Becky Paul. The crew includes Sam Edwards (Director of Photography), John Hargreaves (Pyrotechnics), Amy Rogers (Hair and Make Up) and Marc Hankins (Stills Photography). The film is being produced by the Company in association with Rebecca Preston and, of course, is directed by Nic. The film is being shot primarily at Northwood Studios in London with location work across the South of England. Keep an eye on this site for news and pictures.

FILMING DATE ANNOUNCED (Added 2007-05-25 01:03:15 BST)
With the shooting script now finalised, filming will begin on "Curses And Sermons" (working title) on the 6th August. The film will be shot partially on the green screen soundstage at Northwood Studios, London in order to create a story with scenes in both the fiery depths of Hell and the furthest regions of the Universe! Other sections of the film will be shot on location in and around the South of England which will double for the American West. UPDATES - NEW LOGO, FILM PROJECT (Added 2007-04-09 00:12:48 BST)
A big thankyou is due to a couple of people. Firstly to Chris Weige for allowing us to use his fantastic design based on the typewriter Jack Kerouac wrote "On The Road" with as the new company logo. The new logo feels much more in tune with the direction the company has taken recently and we're very appreciative that Chris has allowed us to use it. For those interested, you can check out more of Chris's work at http://reckonwordwide.com/. And our second thankyou is to Tom Newman who has updated the website for us - not only incorporating Chris's logo into the site, but adding new pictures, redesigning some sections, etc and altogether giving the site an overdue Spring clean. In terms of the work, I now have a final shooting script in my hand for the first film project the Company is undertaking and with locations being scouted, crew being assembled, etc it's looking likely that we'll be going before the cameras with our exciting new venture this Summer. As always, all news and photos will appear here first. This film is intended as the first of a series of film projects based on the work of the American Beat writers.

EXCITING TIME AHEAD FOR THE COMPANY (Added 2007-03-16 10:20:42 GMT)
2007 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for the Company. Following the runaway success of "The Beard", we are now working with Michael McClure on a film project based on his work. Ray Manzarek of The Doors has agreed to compose the music for the film which will be going in front of the cameras this Summer. All news will, of course, appear here first. Also, thanks to our involvement with Michael, the Company has been in talks with numerous other high profile writers and a deal has been done to bring another neglected masterpiece back to life on the British stage. At this point, all energies are being pointed in the direction of the film, so details of this project are currently under wraps, but rest assured when Theatre 14167 returns to the stage it will definitely be with a bang.
